Christmas Continued - January 1, 2009

After we left our house on Christmas Eve, we drove to Lancaster to visit with my Mom and the rest of my family. We got up early Christmas morning and Nana Jinny was so ready for Clark to come downstairs, she had her camera ready and snapped a picture right as we came around the corner! Here she is with baby Clark while Katie and I are opening presents.

We got some great presents from my Mom, as usual, including Wii Fit! This is Katie playing with that, skiing I think.

And here I am trying on one of my favorite presents, a Heath Miller #83 away jersey.

Christmas day was pretty busy. After doing our morning thing, we stopped out at Lanfair to see my Nana, then Joe & Sara came down for a bit to exchange gifts too. Later on we went up to Newark to see some of Katie's family at her aunt Kelly's, then stopped back at my family's gathering that night as well.

We met up with Vic, Barb, Joey & Amy at Yummy Yummy in Hebron on Friday for Lunch. Katie was super excited about having some spicy tuna rolls for the first time in a year. Other than that we didn't do a whole lot until heading out to my Dad's Saturday morning to see him, Katherine, and the kids. We had a nice time and some great food too.

We packed up camp and moved to Newark on Sunday the 28th for the duration of our trip. We were just hanging out and goofing around on Sunday afternoon, so Katie and her sisters-in-law decided to raid Barb's collection of Christmas sweaters, setting up this classic picture.

Our Joyner Family Christmas celebration was conducted on Monday morning, and boy was it an event. Seven kids, ages 3 months to 9 years old, 11 adults and one caged dog with multiple presents for each makes for quite a gift exchange experience! Clark's favorite present that day was a Glow Worm that his Nana Joyner got him.

We had a traditional Christmas dinner that afternoon, and took a walk to get some fresh air, which necessitated bundling Clark up in his new jacket, hat and gloves.

The next event was Tuesday's surprise party for Vic's 60th birthday at the Natoma Cafe. Barb did a great job setting up the party and we all had a good time drinking to Vic's health and then eating dinner afterward. Here's all the Joyner kids together, a shot of me with the other "out-laws", and the birthday boy in his Hawaiian shirt and lei.

We returned home on Wednesday the 31st with the hopes of getting back to our regular home schedule with Clark before I go back to work on the 5th. New Year's Eve at the Robb house was pretty boring... just some take-out Mexican food, a couple bottles of beer and watching the ball drop before hitting the sack.

New Year's Day had a bit more excitement in the form of unexpected news. I got a call from my Mom around 1:15pm to tell me that my sister Sara had her baby today! Elizabeth Jeanne was born well shy of her expected March 7 due date at 4 lbs and measuring 17.25 inches, but from what I've heard she's doing well in the NICU. Not sure yet when we'll be heading back to Ohio to see them, but Dad said he'd send me some pictures, so I'll at least post those when I get them.
