Father's Day - June 20th, 2011

I can't believe it is June already! The girls are 5 months old now and really starting to do a lot of stuff! They both have found their feet and like to hold on to them when they are laying around. They love laying in activity mats and batting at and grabbing on to things hanging down. They like to chew on anything they are holding and as you can see in the picture below, they also both like to chew on their dresses! They love watching Clark and will watch him as he marches around the room singing or whatever he is doing. Alex is really starting to hold her head up well and Jenna is getting better every day. The last few weeks they have had several nights when they slept 6 or 7 hours and last night they went almost 9 with out waking, so I am hoping we will have some good sleepers soon! Most nights they are only up once between 10pm-7am. They love taking walks in their stroller, and are now stable enough to ride in the double jogging stroller that we have, so it has been fun to take them on family runs in the evening.

They still have a fussy time between 5-7 every evening, but taking them on walks helps with that - or just holding them until they fall asleep, like Alex did in this picture.

Jason went on a fishing trip to Canada with my dad and brother Tommy for a week. My mom came and stayed with me to help with Clark and the twins. I will let Jason do a separate post about his trip, but here is a picture of the guys before they left. They are looking so ornery because Tom and Dad are trying to look as tall as Jason in this picture.

My mom and I had a really good week while the boys were gone. It was a nice break for me to have someone there all day, so that I was able to go running during nap time, or do errands during the day without all the kids. We also spent the week potty training Clark. I was surprised and pleased by how well that went and he has been still doing great wearing big boy underwear during the day and hasn't had any accidents for several days now!

This weekend we celebrated Father's Day. Jason and Clark got matching shirts and we got some great pictures of Jason and his kiddos. Jenna wasn't particularly happy during picture time, but the other kids were. On Sunday afternoon we went to a couple parks to walk the girls and let Clark play. It was a good day all in all.

Today we are starting a workout and nutrition program called Insanity, our 10 year high school reunions are coming up this summer and Jason and I decided that was motivation enough to get back in shape. Future posts will let you know how we are doing with that.

Ok - time for me to sign off, Clark wants wants a snack, the girls are up from their nap and ready to eat, and Chewie is trying to climb on my lap becuase he is deathly afraid of the storm we are having right now. Time for me to get busy!
